10:00 Keynote: QDE (Questioned Document Examination), a question of
honour
Throughout the ages, especially during economically challenging times,
individuals try to create advantages for themselves by manipulating official
documents. This session will allow an insight into the world of forensic
handwriting examination and the complicated process of a forgery investigation
through the eyes of an internationally recognised forensic handwriting examiner.
Richard Fraser M.D., forensic handwriting examiner, USA
10:45 Morning coffee
11:15 Panel discussion: Trusts and insolvency
In the current economic climate insolvency is a major potential issue for all
involved in trusts. And the next two years or so are likely to throw up more
insolvency and trust issues. With plenty of opportunity for questions from the
floor, the panel will debate insolvency issues that can arise where the trust is
insolvent, where the trustee (corporate and individual) is insolvent, where one
or more of the beneficiaries is insolvent and where counter-parties are
insolvent. And they will do so with specific reference to both the UK and
offshore jurisdictions such as Bermuda, the BVI, Cayman, Gibraltar, Jersey and
Guernsey.
